Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honors and preserves the legacy of our patriot ancestors who gave service in the cause of the American Revolution. Over two hundred years ago, these American patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society‚Äôs various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.

Any woman at least eighteen years of age, who can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence, is eligible for membership. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.

The first step to membership in the NSDAR and the Thomas Nelson Chapter is to gather the genealogical information that you already have and contact our registrar, Jill Stark, for more information.  She will guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have.

For more information on eligibility, please visit the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution membership eligibility page by clicking here. This site will also guide you in the steps to find your lineage, identify your patriot ancestor, find a chapter, and begin the application process. The Thomas Nelson Chapter registrar is prepared to provide advice and assistance in this endeavor.
